Bari

Our first stop is Bari, situated just above the eastern “heel” of Italy. We arrived mid-morning with rain threatening.

Thankfully, the rain held off until we returned from our excursion to the old city. Bari is an old port city, with influences from a variety of cultures over the years. In typical (at least, to us) Italian style, there is something different to take in around every corner.

As with Rome, the traffic provided much entertainment with the insanity of Italian drivers. Then again, perhaps we are the ones doing it wrong.

Somehow, Deb and I seem to make big days of our trips – even now we are weary with sore feet...and the sun is still up.

As this is written, the ship is pulling out for our next destination: Katakolon – Olympia.
